Fair employment laws for people with learning disabilities? (HR or Lawyer please answer)?
Does anyone know if any laws regarding disabilities and how they would pretain to a person with reading, writing, spelling, and comperhesion trouble. I also though that I had dislexia as well becuase that is something that does come with learning disabilities sometimes. I asked my previous employer for help and they said I had to pay for the testing my self told them I feel that my disability is causing my trouble at work and the company who I worked for Fiserv (Innoviant)would not help me. What do I Buy Xenical Online do I was let go in Feb. of 2007 and want to make sure that I get something from Fiserv since they did not help the way they should have.
I should add that I worked in a call center a very busy one and moved to a more structerd department and when I asked for help over and over they would get upset with me and get short with me.
When I was younger (6th grade the school main streamed me) so I do not know how to adapt to some things like others would I have talked with the DWD in Wisconsin and have an appointment set up with them.

I have learning disabilities too. What I have done and have had to do is find things that help me overcome these disabilities. I’m horrible at spelling so i use spell check and I have a Franklin speller with a speaker and a dictionary. It says the word then gives me a written definition.
I’m horrible at math. I make sure I have a 10 key available. wither i would bring my own from home or the employer supplied it.
I used Outlook to remind me of deadlines. I would set and appointment and depending on the project or task i would set the reminder a day ahead or if it was as simple as calling somebody back I would set it to remind me in an hour.
When I first start a job I know it will take me awhile to learn. I spend extra time (my own time) at the office to learn the job or to get the work done that should have been completed. I would also take things home and work on them there.
Yes you have a learning disability but there are so many ways around it. You just have to find what works for you. If you need extra training time ask the employer for that time but do not do it on the clock. You will earn their respect and they will see that you really want this job and will work hard to do it.
You need to take responsibility for you and your disability and not put it on your employers as their responsibility.
Sorry I wrote a book. This is just my opinion.
