Government, civics, history
divorce lawyer – a lawyer specializing in actions for divorce or annulment
Any lawyer needs to research their chosen field to the greatest degree, if they are going to be a major player within the legal industry and offer informed legal advice to their clients; a criminal lawyer must study the ins and outs of the criminal mind through psychological research, a property lawyer must look in to the statistics of town planning and the rise and fall of the population in their area just as a divorce lawyer must study the sociological theory behind family law.
I don’t live in Britain, but I’m assuming the general principles are the same regardless.
The entire process (in Canada and the US at least) typically takes at least 7 years- college, law school and the BAR exam. I’m assuming this is the same in Britain.
In terms of courses, anything goes- law schools only concern themselves with your GPA, not individual subjects. My advice is to choose ones that interest you so you’ll be more inclined to succeed. Or, consider writing-intensive subjects as they tend to be of greater benefit as well.
Best regards
