“Creating rainbows for a world without discrimination” November 11 2007 We stand on the streets as sexual minorities in Korea! That’s why we stand here in protest of a discriminative law that excludes all social minorities based on sexual orientation including gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders. We are against the discriminative Anti-discrimination law which seven categories have been deleted.

bog, I totally agree with you,S.Korea should stop copying liberal American values so much. I don’t really hate gays, but gayness is unnatural and shouldn’t be imposed on heterosexual people.
This is the price we pay for globalization. We are whoring ourselves by accepting these kinds of western liberal values. This will only westernize Korea more and force us to abandon our values and beliefs. Soon enough we will just be another copy of the West and all Koreans will start thinking like whites. yawn. half of americans consider homosexuality a sin and the vast majority oppose same-sex marriage, so stop whining and blaming america. as nations become more modernized and rich, liberalized social values, animal rights laws, and anti-discrimination legislation naturally follow. that’s why homosexuality is tolerated in developed west europe while it’s still taboo in less developed east europe.

Why should Korean gays have any less a right to express themselves publicly than straights? The West did not bring homosexuality to Korea, only sexual politics.

Whether or not we like it, the rest of the OECD has to put up with immigration, diversity, people with disabilities, minority groups etc etc, Why should South East Asian Countries be no different?
depends on what your educating. Western Europe has followed enlightenment thinkers a lot and has become more atheistic through the century. this is not necessarily related to the region’s economic success or education. Also western Europe still has a large conservative Catholic population.
