What credentials are needed to be a family practice lawyer?

   mate you need a law degree to be a lawyer first of all. you need to major in something solid and related to the law field (i.e. political science) that should be 4 years. then you need to go to an accredited law school which is 3 years.
   im not sure but i think they have an extension program for specializing in some law field, yet im not sure. then finally you need to pass your BAR exam. study hard in law school.

   To practice law in the U.S. you need to be a lawyer. That means you need to go to law school and then pass a state bar exam. (The bar exam is the licensing exam for lawyers; each state has its own).

   To go to law school, you need to have an undergraduate degree from a four year college.

   So… you need: (1) four years of college (2) three years of law school, and then (3) you need to take and pass the bar exam. After taking the exam, you need additionally to pass various state requirements, but as long as you’re not a felon or a fraudster, you should be ok.

   Then, to become a “family practice lawyer,” one should develop expertise in that area of the law for several years after law school.
